Wellington, FL – Robert McNeel’s Connecticut-based Astor Place Show Stables is celebrating a great show season at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival, and thanks to winning the Absorbine Stall Safe® Tack Room Award they have even more to celebrate. Astor Place Show Stables won the award during the ninth week of the show circuit due to a beautiful stabling area that showed Astor Place had tapped into its equestrian interior decorating abilities.
McNeel was thrilled that his barn captured the Stall Safe award, which is presented to a well-decorated stabling area each week. "A stabling area needs to set an example that will inspire the riders to rise to their personal best," McNeel said, adding that his grooms take great pride in their stabling area and the tack room.
Astor Place Show Stable’s décor caught the eye of the Stall Safe spotters, who were impressed with the barn’s starched blue curtains with white trim that were complimented by beautiful hanging baskets of pink petunias in full bloom. A crystal horse head statue in the center of the table added to the professional atmosphere of the stable area.
In addition to being recognized by Stall Safe, McNeel is celebrating the fact that his horses and riders have been in the top five in every class throughout the circuit. "It’s a super season," he said, adding that he brought nine horses, seven junior riders, three adult amateurs and one Grand Prix jumper with him to WEF.
Winning the Absorbine Stall Safe award was a memorable victory for McNeel. "I worked for my uncle at the racetrack when I was about 12, and I can still remember the smell of Absorbine on my hands.
